What a difference two days make! The last post I was ecstatic about the warm sunny day. Now two days later I wake up to snow! I don’t mean a few flurries either. I mean a total blanket of snow covering the ground. March 15th, and we still have snow!
Moving on to springtime allergy season. I’m hearing from several people in various parts of the country their sinuses are killing them. Received an email the other morning from a friend in southern California lamenting about his stuffy nose, congestion and overall being miserable. I checked at pollen count and sure enough the pollen count was very high out there.
For any of you with allergies you might want to check out the pollen count link in the above paragraph. Click on your state then type in your zip code and it will tell you the 4 day allergy forecast and the predominant pollen. It also gives you the best and worst cities for the day. When allergy season starts for me I check that web site daily and find it very useful.

Same crazy weather here in Connecticut. We hit 70 yesterday and now they’re calling for up to 2 ft of snow, sleet tonight into Friday. Ugh! Hope they’re wrong.
Hey! Happy Birthday!!
:):)
Right now we are enjoying 70 degree weather.. (thanking mother nature big time)…but next week.. we are in for another storm…
I like your chart here.. yup.. I suffer big time with sinues… Hope you warm up again. Vallerie
Er, that fellow Nutmegger (Connecticut-ite) must be from the higher hills. Here’s hoping down in “the Connecticut River Valley” that we only get what the weathermen down here are predicting — 2-4″ of the white stuff.
Are you an allergy sufferer, Elaine? I hope not. I lucked out and it doesn’t affect me. Here’s hoping your Ides of March was a good one
~Nooner~
Hey Nooner. I’m in the valley too. See, my problem is that I don’t pay enough attention to the actual weather reports on tv or radio. Someone I work with told me the 2 ft. Looks like maybe a foot tho? In reality. lol We’ll see……
Oh man! I’m glad we got out today and did the chores. We had a 5.5 today and tomorrow it’s supposed to be 7.5!
That’s a pretty neat thing to have handy. Thank you Elaine!
You asked about the hostas.. it’s hard to kill a hosta. I used to mow mine down after they’d turned ugly in late summer and they still come back big and beautiful every year. You can cut back them back after they die down and they’ll be fine. I’ve noticed that mine aren’t coming out at all yet and I wonder if it’s because I moved them to the shadier area. If they were in full sun I’m sure they’d be poking through by now.
