In this day and age of high percentages of obesity - especially in Americaýs children, diabetes, and coronary disease, this is not the kind of menu addition we need.
When ONE burrito contains and/or exceeds the equivalent of what my DAILY calorie intake should be, and FAR exceeds what my daily fat intake should be, something is drastically wrong!
I do not eat at fast-food restaurants, and do not allow my children to either. Even when traveling, unless we can find an eating establishment offering healthy, low calorie/low fat food

I think my arteries hardened just looking at the picture! I think I'm glad that we don't have any Hardee's franchises here.

Elaine,

Good article. Though I would not be temped by a Monster Breakfast Burrito...I am paying more attention to avoiding high LDL cholesterol foods... and exercising and being more active on a regular basis. My LDL was too high on my last blood test. My HDL cholesteral was excellent and I do eat smaller, well balanced meals. My blood pressure is also good.

That isn't good enough though, when you get older, though, and metabolism slows down. I have started walking every other day and will build up time and endurance from there.

WoFat - good job on the exercise! Hopefully you won't see the inside of a hospital for a long time.
Kimmy - it is nasty!!!
Mike - congrats to you! 2 pants sizes is something to be proud of! I do agree if you ate something like this now you would probably get sick. I know I wouldn't be able to get more than a few bites and it would do me in since I never eat fast food or anything remotely like this product.
Janet - I agree...your second comment is right on! Alot of people do know but for whatever reasons do it anyway. I could tell you story after story of hospitalized patients in there for heart disease and obesity and family members still bring them in tons of junk food!

Scary to think that so many people don't understand what they are doing to their bodies when they eat one of these! Scary too to wonder how many might know but don't care.

Hi Elaine,
That Breakfast Burrito reminds me of how I became fat in the first place. In the last six months I've changed my entire lifestyle (my doctor yelled at me) and I've lost an enormous amount of weight through diet and excercise. I've gone down two pants sizes. Reading your article reminds me to keep trying to get thin! I packed my lunch for work tomorrow with plenty of healthy stuff. If I ate that breakfast burrito, I'd get sick for sure. Thanks for the informative post.

A blog by a Cardiac Nurse. Good idea. Last December I saw far too much of such nurses. I now exercise at least an hour a day, six days a week, so I don't have to see them any more. I also don't eat huge fast food meals. Nor smoke, as I did for 30 years, up to 15 years ago.

For those who wish to eat Voo Doo Burgers and smoke, go for it. We can probably do without you.

Kirk- believe me I held back with my caustic and sarcastic remarks, yours always welcome.
Jason - I think there are still a lot of people who cook at home most nights, or if they do go out try to order something healthy.
Janet - thanks for stopping in.
Judy - good to see you again, yea they do come out with some good sayings, think they compared this to food porn, or something like that.
Nooner - I'm with you, does not even sound appealing, just a bunch poorly chosen ingredients rolled together.
Rhea - would be interesting to know how many of these they actually end up selling.
Mary Anne - lol, yea I think I'll hold out for a better way to go ;-)
