Cell Phone Linked to Lower Sperm Quality

Something for the single men to think about ;-)

Men who talk a lot on their cell phones have been found to produce sperm of lower quality according to the results of a new study. The study, which was conducted by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic featured a total of 361 men.

The researchers noted that the more a man talked on his phone each day, the lower their sperm quality, and the higher their amount of abnormal sperm. They believe that this is the case due to electromagnetic energy omitted from the phone damaging DNA.

Men who talked on their cell phones for 4 hours a day or more, had the lowest quality sperm. Men who only used their cells sparingly throughout the day were less effected.

“Our results show a strong association of cell phone use with decreased semen quality. However, they do not prove a cause-and- effect relationship,” lead researcher Dr. Ashok Agarwal told Reuters Health.

For an mcp or a ccna professional, the best security training option is to go for itil certification, followed by an mcsa certification.

  1. Now there is an interesting warning/precautions message for the side of the packaging…lol…

  2. TigerTom says:

How the heck can a mobile phone affect you ‘down there’?

    Wait:

“However, they do not prove a cause-and- effect relationship”.

    Which statement everyone will ignore.

  3. W. Beth Young says:

I do hope this will lead to a new form of male birth control. ;)

  4. Laoch says:

    Cool birth control tip!

  5. mary-Anne Horton says:

I agree with Laoch a new form of Birthcontrol

I wonder if this tidbit will appear in the next Darwin Awards book. People who get Darwin Awards have literally taken themselves out of the reproducing gene pool through their own thoughtless behavior–such as the drunken young fellow who tried to put a flower lei around the neck of a tiger at the zoo. People who get Darwin Honorable Mentions just take their equipment out of the reproduction business, such as the fellow who tried to stimulate himself with a vacuum hose that unfortunately and unknown to him had a whirling blade in it.

This also reminds me of a study that showed regular marijuana use resulted in befuddled sperm that swam in circles. I imagine that marijuana-smoking male cell phone users are a group that won’t be procreating anytime soon!

Thank you all for your comments, this was a fun off the beat topic LOL.
From warning on packaging ~ to male birth control ~ to Darwin awards, all good replies.

  8. Jason P. says:

I guess I am safe: I haven’t used a cell phone in 5 years. And never ultra frequently.

The only theory about it could be the electronic waves passing by your body. If you are on a Naval vessel, you are taught to stay away from the radar systems during all transmissions. It can literally cook you from the inside out, like a microwave. Maybe something to that with cell phones. Though whatta about women? How about their eggs?

(I hope you didn’t take the post sent up on Monday to heart. I was talking in general about my diagnosis. And the various experiences with that.)

  9. Ziggyff says:

    LOL Thanks for interesting sharing)))
It seems to me that microwave oven is more harmful. If all such assumption were true we would be dead.
