Wow, that's really interesting. I have never seen a blue frog before. Maybe I should watch more National Geographic?!

I've been to the zoo before. It's well worth it. Hope I can be in a position someday to go again.

Well darn it I had a whole post ready to send and lost it when an error came up. (think I posted in the middle of an upgrade to wordpress lol)
Anywho.. beautiful color on the frog. They're so tiny too. If you take all the different species of poison dart frogs and put them together in a room, you'll have a rainbow. lol

Gaby - Thanks! I get to Washington DC pretty frequently so will put that on my list of places to visit. Thanks for stopping in.
Martin - Will do :-)
Johnrobin - glad you liked the photo. The vividness of the blue is what I find most amazing.
Beth - I remember Ranger Rick when my kids were little. Good suggestion for Cora ;-) Will try to get some good photos to share when I am out there.

Elaine,

Oh, this is right up my alley! The Poison Dart (or Arrow) Frogs only grow to about 6 centimeters (or 2.362 inches) in length and come in a variety of bright colors, including red, orange, and yellow, often mixed with black patterns. One cute fellow is red and looks like he is wearing blue jeans. The most poisonous is the Golden Dart Frog.

When I was teaching Kindergarten we ordered "RANGER RICK" from the "NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION" for our students to enjoy. The pictures were breathtaking and the interesting facts were entertaining for us all. I personally thought that they inspired my students to have a better love for, and understanding of, nature. Cora may enjoy them when she is a bit older. =)

Thanks for the lovely picture and memories. Hope you do get to see the cherry blossoms and visit the zoo.

Definitely come to the zoo and, if you have time, visit the National Geographic Museum, where there's a whole exhibit about frogs.
