Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.
-John McCain
I about spit out a mouth full of coffee when I read that this morning. Have a great weekend everyone! ~ Elaine

I assume that he doesn’t think that the health insurance industry might go the same way as the banking industry. OOPS! AIG IS an insurance company. Will these boys never learn!!
Oh hey, I want him as our next president. Americans have always shined their best in a massive crisis (extreme cutting sarcasm here).
For a person who has supported the most unpopular President of all times over 92% of the time on decisions, he sure takes a lot of jabs at at other people. Being in the senate for 26 years he should look HONESTLY at his own record, if he does that, he may have to fire himself!
Mary - McCain and Phil Gramm are big de-regulators and look where that got us. I shudder to think of them at the helm when it comes to our health insurance or social security.
Kirk – extreme sarcasm noted
Gino – taking jabs is all he has left. A reformer he IS NOT.
Words cannot suffice, so: YAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I am with Hillary on this one, I think the USA should have universal health care for all, we have it here in Canada and it works well for us……..plus many more European countrys have it also….however the best one is France……I really believe that all Americans should see the movie Sicko it is quite an eye opener…..I know for a fact my neighbour who spent the winters in his Florida home got sick and the advised him to get the next plane out because to have the operation in the states would bankrupt him, oh BTW he always took out travel insurance but it did not cover his problem…….
As a Brit I must say the American health care system is a bit of a mystery to me. I was fortunate enough to be born after the launch of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, and in my experience it works just fine, and for the most part is loved, cherished and respected by the people in the UK who use it.
