Ugh! Glad I won’t be visiting any of those places anytime soon. Thanks for the link, not that we travel much. We will be taking a trip back east by truck so will check this out if we stop for the night and we WILL stop for the night.
Eden Rock Hotel is awful. I’ve slept there one night last summer and I gotta say it was one of the worst expieriences ever. I’d rather sleep in my car.
The closest I’ll come to these is Gatlinburg I think. Thanks for sharing.
I’m just not much of a traveler. My neighbors all seem to travel to exotic locales. But me, I just travel out to the garden mostly. Occasionally to Oklahoma to see my grown kids and grandkids. But my stroll outside does the trick for me!

I stayed at a place once that had carpets so dirty that when I stood in the bathtub, which was damp from a previous user, I left dirty footprints.
I kept my socks on the rest of the weekend.
Boy I could add at least one good one to the top of that list from all the traveling I did.
It’s a small place in Norcross GA called the HomeTown Inn.
What a bug infested filthy place. I opened and immediately closed the door upon arriving, and refused to stay there.
I still shudder thinking about it.
Yuck! I do use Trip Advisor, but I still find that most rooms are very dusty! I’m afraid it’s often a matter of paying more for a better, cleaner place.
Janeywan – Trip Advisor is a good site, I think you’ll like it.
DesignMiami- It sounded awful!
Darla- There are many nice places in Gatlinburg, too bad they let this deteriorate.
Brenda – I like to travel and see new places, but I thoroughly check out where I’m staying if it’s a resort or hotel.
Delmer – why didn’t you leave and go to another place?
Dave- I couldn’t stay at a filthy place either, will get in my car and keep driving.
Keli – I agree, with hotels and lodging often it does come down to “you get what you pay for”.
Must make a note for next year’s vacation. I’ll take month and stay at each one of these in turn. I’ll bring a notebook and camera along and do a little blogging about each one while I’m at it.. Maybe even a couple of video interviews as well with the cockroaches?
