I feel like singing, “On The Road Again”  by Willie Nelson. I’m leaving this morning and driving out to DC. Over the weekend we will go down to NC to visit  little Cora and of course Daughter and S-I-L, but granddaughter takes top billing. This is the longest I’ve gone without seeing her since  birth. Last visit was at Christmas. Of course I get several weekly updates on what she’s learned and her latest antics.  Last week she fell on the driveway and skinned her knee, her first abrasion! Oh my, didn’t even require a band-aid but it was the first time she has seen a boo boo. I guess the rest of the night if she was upset and crying she would point to her knee and say boo boo, it didn’t matter it was often the wrong knee. I hear she’s also learned to stamp her little feet when mad, frustrated or told no no.

After the weekend we’ll return to DC and I plan on staying out there a few days, maybe even the week if the weather is decent. Cherry Blossoms will be at peak and I hope to go out exploring and get some good pictures. For any of you not familiar with the history of the cherry blossoms and how they were brought to the Nation’s Capitol here’s a good site.

I will have my laptop with me and may update the blog but don’t count on it. Those who email me, I will be checking that every day and those that have my phone number, text messages are always fine.

Sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned! *S*

And how on earth did you get a grand-daughter? (don’t answer that)

You don’t look nearly old enough to have a grandchild!
Wow….. well, you have a great time and I can’t wait to see the pictures!

Have a wonderful trip, Elaine! I used to love Cherry Blossom time in DC. We would go to the Cherry Blossom parade every year, and had our own trees in our yard. : )

What a beautiful and feminine name: Cora. And one we don’t often hear anymore. You have a great time, and hug her lots! I’ll be thinking about you. I haven’t seen my only granddaughter since her birth in December. So I know how you feel!

    How wonderful!
We don’t have cherry blossoms, but we do have peach, plum, pear and nectarine blossoms right now and they’re simply gorgeous (yes, I am a show-off).
    Enjoy your trip!
