I know it’s not the same scale — but Eddyville, Kentucky has to have the most courteous drivers. Everybody I passed waved to me … and I was visiting my parents — they had no idea who I was.

I imagine like-sized cities in all the states are the same.

I am totally shocked that Los Angeles isn’t on the list. I have witnessed many an aggressive driver so I think there must have been some sort of bribery going on with this list. I can barely cross a busy street during a green light and in the cross walk without making some driver angry at me for crossing! To me that’s aggression! Good thing I don’t carry a firearm.

Seattle drivers are usually so polite that it can be hard to get one to go at a four-way stop. Now, if we could just teach them to use turn signals. Being laid back is one thing, but that’s just crazy.

No way would I even consider driving there and I have driven in many major cities. Call me a taxi if I’m ever in Rome or London or several other European cities that come to mind. Good thing your husband was driving.

Brenda most major cities have laws that require hands free driving and to get caught driving holding a cell phone to one’s ear results in a hefty fine. I’ve been driving in DC for several years and always have my phone…but using a bluetooth, another city with hefty fines for that offense or driving in the HOV lane with only one person in the car (as I almost found out).

No way I would ever drive in Mexico City…

Yep I hear you about the south, life is a bit slower and people a bit friendlier than you find in many northern and eastern cities.

None of those places are as bad as driving in Rome, Italy (I wasn’t driving, my husband was; he and the boys threw me whimpering into the back seat.)
I think your analysis of LA is spot on.
