Today is a break from the usual health care gloom and doom and something sure to make you smile (or at least I hope so). I went to Kensington Metropark today and enjoyed the Black-capped Chickadee’s. They’re friendly and love visitors in their woods as long as you remember to bring along some seed.
Words to Ponder
We have to ask ourselves whether medicine is to remain a humanitarian and respected profession or a new but depersonalized science in the service of prolonging life rather than diminishing human suffering.
-Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
To know a person's religion we need not listen to his profession of faith but must find his brand of intolerance. -Eric Hoffer
When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow. -Anaïs Nin
Obesity Tsunami
More than half a billion people, or one in 10 adults worldwide, are obese -- more than double the number in 1980. Obesity-related diseases account for nearly 10 percent of U.S. medical spending or an estimated $147 billion a year.
Except for smoking, obesity is now the number one preventable cause of death in this country. Three hundred thousand people die of obesity every year.

That’s wonderful, Elaine.
I have mostly chickadees at my feeder this year. They’re very friendly. Maybe I’ll try to get one to land on my hand some day.
How lovely! I love watching the local birds. We have a bird bath outside of our living room window, and the thirsty birds come in a gorgeous array of colors! But none have ever eaten out of our hands!

Elaine I tried to leave you a reply at your other site, however I don’t know if you got it or not.
Those chickadees sure are tame & the weather has been so great this year…
